Final project event in the German Hop Museum

At our final project event at the German Hop Museum in Wolnzach, we presented the results and experiences gained during the four-year SMART-SWS project. It became clear how crucial the Hüll pilot site was in demonstrating the practical feasibility of the approach and in developing a transferable blueprint for managed aquifer recharge in rural areas. A potential implementation in the Allgäu region was also validated through the flood event of June 2024 and further developed into a detailed concept.
The event was enriched by keynote presentations from Dr. Jörg Neumann (LfU) on changing groundwater recharge conditions and Michaela Ach (StMELF) on the challenges of agricultural irrigation.
We would like to thank the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), the Karlsruhe Project Management Agency (PTKA), and all participants for the constructive discussions and valuable exchange of ideas.
We look forward to future collaborations and joint activities!
