Mid-term workshop

On November 15, the second Smart-SWS workshop took place in Garching, Germany, focusing on the presentation of previous results on drought and flood management in Bavaria, GIS-based analyses and water cycle-dependent ecosystem functions.

This public meeting brought together authorities, engineering offices, universities, special purpose associations and lawyers, and provided a platform for oral and poster presentations that presented a wide range of insights and innovative approaches to drought and flood management. The interdisciplinary discussions and collaboration between different fields helped to make the day extremely insightful and fruitful.

With a wealth of ideas for the second half of the project, the workshop created an important basis for future strategies and cooperation in order to effectively meet the challenges of water management.
